I’ve been waiting patiently for a Hyatt promotion to maximize an upcoming stay in Daytona Beach in two weeks. I’ve searched and searched and waited and waited but hadn’t found anything. Then on Monday I saw everyone posting a targeted offer to receive up to 50,000 bonus points. The offer didn’t sound to exciting to me considering it the first earning tier was 5,000 points after 5 nights and my upcoming stay is only 3 nights. I checked my email to see if I had been targeted but no dice.
To my surprise it turns out Hyatt has not forgotten me after all! This afternoon I received a solicitation from Hyatt offering me 5,000 bonus Gold Passport points after my next eligible stay. Jackpot! For someone who doesn’t stay at Hyatt properties often this is far better than the up to 50,000 point offer.
On the other hand, if you regularly stay at Hyatt properties then you could do far better with the tiered offer. The tiered offer starts at 5,000 bonus points after 5 nights. After 10 nights you will receive another 10,000 points. Reach 15 nights and you will double your earnings with another 15,000 Gold Passport points. If you manage to max out the promotion with 20 nights you will haul in another 20,000 points bring your grand total up to 50,000 Gold Passport points.
My 3 night stay in September at the Hyatt Place Daytona Beach is being paid for using Hyatt vouchers from a 40,000 point Citi checking account offer from earlier in the year. So my 3 nights will be $351 (paid for with vouchers) which will generate 1755 points + the 5,000 bonus points for a total of 6,755 points!
How about you? Did you receive an offer? Which one?
