EVEN BETTER DEAL AVAILABLE UNTIL 7/7/13 on the business version – 55,000 miles and 20,000 MQM sign up bonus!!!!
Recently there has been a renewed interest in the Delta Amex cards due to some targeted promotional offers that Amex has thrown out. There have been to main offers for the Gold Delta Amex card, with one offering 40,000 miles after spending $1,000 in 3 months, offered to non-elites via DeltaAmexCard.com. The second offer is for 45,000 but takes a total of $5,000 in spending w/in 6 months offer via creditcards.com’s card match tool.
It is debatable which offer is really better due to the large spending requirement on the 45,000 mile offer. Arguments could be made both ways, but it really boils down to being a matter of which is best for each individuals situation.
But I am not really interested in the Gold Delta Amex card right now. As many of you know I have had to switch over to Delta earlier this year (due to AA’s recent high prices out of my airport). What I have been interested in however, is the Platinum Delta Amex card. With this card, Amex has been offering up to 40,000 redeemable miles & 15,000 MQM’s after spending only $1,000 in the first 3 months!
The drawback is that this offer seems to be only targeted to Delta Elites, while the rest of us get the Gold Delta Amex offer. Since I haven’t been flying much for work this year, I have yet to hit elite with Delta and do not really care to wait until I hit elite to get the card so I have been on the hunt for a way to get this offer. The basic public offer only comes with 5,000 MQM’s which doesn’t justify an application or the $150 annual fee for me.
However, I have found an offer for the personal Platinum Delta Amex card (business card link doesn’t work) offering up to 35,000 miles & 10,000 MQM’s after spending $2,000 in the first 3 months. This is a great card for ongoing spending because you earn upto 20,000 MQM’s per calendar year by spending $50,000 on the card.
I’m after the MQM’s and earning 10,000 MQM’s at a cost of $150 for the annual fee is a cost of only 1.5 CPM’s which is far better than any mileage run, but I can’t seem to pull the trigger. I keep hoping I can find a way to get the 15k MQM deal.
So, what do you think? Should I keep holding out for a way to get the 15k MQM offer? Does anyone know a way to get that offer without being targeted for it?
