If you are looking to rack up Marriott points you now have a new option. In the past week Chase has added a new version of the Marriott credit card to their offerings. Previously Chase has offered two different personal versions of the Marriott Rewards credit card. However, Chase has only offered one basic version of the Marriott credit card as a business credit card, the Marriott Rewards Business Credit Card. As a lower end card this never really had a great sign-up bonus. For the most part it stayed right around 30,000 points.
However last week Chase rolled out the new Marriott Rewards Premier Business Card which is right inline with the Premier version of the personal card. Like the personal version the new Marriott Rewards Premier Business card offers 5x points on Marriott purchases along with 2x points on restaurants, car rental agencies, and directly purchased airline tickets.
However, similar to the Ink cards this card also offers a bonus category bonus of 2 points per dollar spent at office supply stores, and on internet, cable and phone services. A nice added bonus however, I think I will stick with 5x on my Ink cards.
New card members will earn 50,000 bonus points after spending $1,000 in purchases within the first 3 months. This is a pretty standard bonus compared to the personal version of this card. However the personal card does periodically offer promotions of 70,000 and sometimes even 80,000 bonus points so I wouldn’t be too surprised to see similar offers on the new Marriott Rewards Premier Business credit card in the future.
In addition to the bonus points you will also receive a Free Night Stay voucher good for a free night in a category 1-4 hotel which I would estimate at an easy $100 value which isn’t terrible but these used to be worth a lot more in the past.
It is nice to see Chase offer a higher end version of the Marriott Business credit card however this offer is not huge and I will stay on the sidelines for now. However, if you were needing an avenue for some more quick Marriott points this could be a good option for you.
