Evolve Money Now Accepts Discover Cards and Will Accept Visa & MasterCard in 2015

Evolve Money is an online bill pay service that allows you to pay your bills using your MasterCard or Visa Debit cards at no cost. Evolve has over 11,000 billers that you can pay and can be a good way to liquidate some of those extra gift cards as well, although the restrictions on number of payments limits the ability to scale this option. You can also load money into Evolve using REloadit packs as well.

Today Evolve announced that they now accept Discover credit cards as a payment source as well! And just like with debit cards there is also no fees charged to use a Discover card. According to Traveling with Grant, Discover does not consider this a cash advance either. This could be a way to pay a few of those bills that don’t normally allow credit card payments.

But it gets even better, coming in 2015 they will also start allowing Visa and MasterCard credit cards to be used as a funding source. The specifics remain to be seen but if there is still no fee and the same payment limits are still applicable to credit cards then this could become a big opportunity to earn some extra free miles in 2015.

This is an email that I received from the Evolve Support Team: “Thank you for your email. For Discover cards it must be used to charge the same day.” As of now, same day payments, are free until 12/31/14. However, this means that in the future, it will cost $1.50, for each payment with a Discover card, and possibly the same format for Mastercards and Visas.
