Bing Rewards has just added the option to redeem your Bing credits for miles or points in various loyalty programs including several airline and hotel programs. Bing Rewards offers users the ability to earn credits for doing various activities with the main method of earning is using the Bing search engine which will earn you 1 credit for every 2 searches up to a max of 15 credits/day. These credits can in turn be redeemed for many different gift card options and now hotel points or frequent flyer miles.
I signed up for a Bing Rewards account a long time ago but had long since forgotten about until today when I heard about the addition of loyalty programs. After taking another look at the program I’m sure there is some value to be had especially if you make Bing your search engine of choice. You can also earn a lot of credits if you feel like spamming your friends as you will receive 500 credits for each friend who joins and reaches Silver status with Bing Rewards which is actually pretty simple to attain and takes 5 minutes.
But I digress… I don’ think this is going to be a honey hole for most of you however it can be a nice way to keep you miles from expiring in some of those old accounts. The cost is 400 credits for 100 miles or points in any of the following programs: American Airlines AAdvantage, Frontier Airlines EarlyReturns, Hawaiian Airlines HawaiianMiles, Icelandair Saga Club, IHG Rewards Club, LifeMiles, My BestBuy Rewards, SVM FuelCircle, US Airways Dividend Miles, & Virgin Atlantic Flying Club.
You will get a better actual value by redeeming your Bing credits for other gift card options however, this could be an easy way to keep some points from expiring in your inactive accounts. Funny thing is I have 590 credits in my Bing account but just last month I let some miles expire in my Frontier Airlines account because it wasn’t worth the cost to me to do any of the partner activities to keep it active. This would have been nice last month but oh well it was only 1,000 miles…
