2 Free Admirals Club Passes Targeted Offer on Citi Aadvantage Cards

If you have a Citi Aadvantage card you might want to check your email. Citi is sending out targeted offers this week to existing cardmembers offering up free Admirals Club One-Day passes after meeting specific spending requirements. Citi frequently runs promotional offers on their Aadvantage cards awarding bonus’ for spending at specific merchant types but normally the promotions award an extra 2x or 3x miles.

This time the offer is a little different from the normal offers and I must admit that I am intrigued! There may be other versions of this offer but the one I received is for 2 Admirals Club passes after spending a combined total of at least $600 at gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants, & department stores. This offer does require enrollment in order to earn the passes and the spending requirements must be completed prior to 9/30/14 which shouldn’t be too difficult. I have a little gas station down the street that allows the purchase of Vanilla Reloads via credit card čÖé

I noticed the terms & conditions state that the offer starts within 2 business days of when you enroll. So just to play it safe I would suggest not making any big purchases within the first 2 days just to make sure they will count towards the promo!

Admirals Club One-Day passes are sold at a normal price of $50 each making this a $100 value. 2 passes for spending $600 is a pretty solid value in my book even though I probably won’t end up using them. Oh well, it will give me something to give away to one of you!

Anybody get any different version of this offer?

My offer was after spending 1,250. I’ve been following your blog for a few months now and I find it really informative! I try to keep up with a dozen or so different blogs and its refreshing that you don’t just copy and paste postings. I’m also from the Chicago area. I’ve been in this “hobby” since 2012 and have been to some pretty cool places. How do you juggle the earning points/redeeming points? I seem to spend a lot more time on the earning/manufacture spending to meet minimums lately.

    • Thanks for the data point and I’m glad you get something out of the blog!

I try to minimize my time involvement in ms while maximizing my miles and so I have weekly orders of Amex gift cards which take 5 minutes and are delivered to me. I usually cash them in one trip to the simon mall for visas and then accross the street to Walmart to load my bluebirds & Gobank cards and cash the rest out via money orders, I stop at the ATM on the way home to make a deposit and an hour later I am home!

I received this offer too but not sure which card it applied to; MC or AMEX

Department stores? Is there a list of what they consider a department store?

    • Per the terms “Department stores are classified as merchants that provide a general line of merchandise from departments that usually have separate checkout counters.” Now merchants will select what category they feel they fit and be assigned a corresponding merchant category code. the credit card company does not actually make this determination themselves.

    What about making a $600 at a dentist’s offie?

I know this is an old post but I just got this offer yesterday for $1,000 spend to “upgrade” for the free passes. I already have the AA Exec card so the passes are basically worthless unless I resell them.
